Characteristics and History

Cherimoya has more than 2200 types in the world. Mainly has two kinds asAnona and Rollinia. Other known kinds are Asimina, Duguetia, Fusaea and The leaves of the Annona type of the fruit have 2-5 cm lengths. Usually cultivated in small dwarfish trees. The leaves are oval




Cultivation Locations

Middle and South America, Europe and Far East Countries and Israel . The Annona type is rather planted in some zones of American climate. The Cherimoyas, especially growing in woodlands are more yielding in 700-2400m height hills. But especially in South America, they may be grown in locations of 0-1500m height .

Known and consumed as the names Tikal, Canul, Sartenaya, San Pablo, Benque, Caledonia and Chonox in Florida, Belize and Guatemala

Uses

Cherimoya is useful for the health of the skin, hair, nails, tooth flesh, teeth and bones. Thanks to its content Vitamin A , it has body resistance improving characteristic in urinary system, respiratory system infections. Is efficient in the prevention of headaches of Migraine type with its B2 vitamin content. Besides, it increases appetite , and eases digestion

How and where to use?

The fruit may be consumed freshly and at the same tine in your desert, fruit salads and ice creams to add taste.

Storing Conditions

Cherimoya, may be stored in 6 ºC , %85-%90 humidity for 3-4 days. These factors must be considered wile storing cherimoya
