Characteristics and History
Papaya is a very valuable fruit amongst the exotic fruits. Daily required intakes like protein, minerals, and vitamins may be provided from these foods. As the papayas ripen their vitamin C content also increases. Its carbohydrate content comes from sugars.

Uses
As a source of Energy, the Papaya is a perfect source of power for children, pregnant and breastfeeding women.
Papaya has an enormous characteristic, which is known for hundreds of years. Being one of the most easy digested fruits, it also helps to the digestion of other food. The enzyme “ papain” in papaya assists the digestion of food protein and is very efficient for the lack of stomach gland or unhealthy glands. When eaten regularly, it is good for constipation, bleeding hemorrhoids and chronic diarrhea. Papaya’s meat softening characteristic is also discovered.
In the light of this information Papaya is added to meat foods in India and the meat becomes easily digested and soft.
Papaya juice is also good for some skin diseases . it is good for pus, warts, callouse, abnormal skin processes.
Fluid papaya , is good for freckles cosmetically and brown dots as a result of sun exposure and makes the skin look softer and smoother.
Ppastes of papaya seeds, have positive results when used for skin diseases like fungus
How and where to use?
Unripe papayas are generally green blended with tallow and hard when pressed, when they ripe they get half yellow and half green and get softer when pressed, skin smooth and no traces of injury or extra soft parts wash the papayas before cutting or chopping. Peel the cover with the knife and cut to two lengthwise and take off the seeds. Slice as you wish . Papaya, in addition to being freshly consumed, may also be used in fruit salads, cocktails, and in pastry. Besides, in addition to adding taste and flavor to your dishes, it may also be used in ice cream making
Storing Conditions
Is papaya is purchased before its ripening it may be stored in the kitchen, away from sunlight for 2- 3 days. To fasten the ripening process, you may store it in a wide, closed paper bag with fruits like apple, banana , pea which produce ethylene gas for 1-2 days. If you want to store papaya for a long time period, keep in the fridge away from the vegetable container in a plastic bag.
