RAMBUTAN
Characteristics and History:
The mainland is estimated to be Malaya island, the tree reaches up to 9 mt height and the fruits are formed in bunches. The outer covers of the fruits vary between yellow and red and they have sharp and soft spines on them . the fruit plump under the cover has light yellow color and is too hard to bite so it is consumed by sucking. The rambutan is as big as a small apple and the taste and the smell varies according to its types. This frit tree requires totally tropic climate fro growing. But it is easily grown in Antalya Gazipasa. Rambutan trees have seeds that may easily be separated from the pulp in its best demanded kinds. The trees give two products a year, one big and one small and they may be easily grown in every type of soil if well processed. The Rambutan is usually produced by marcottage method; but besides it may also be produced from the sapling and by budding the saplings. The planting space is 10 X 10 m.
Cultivation Locations:
Far east countries like Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and Cambodia.
Uses:
Helps the formation of hemoglobin in the body by the iron mineral it contains. When the Iron level is low, our blood vessels will not be able to carry adequate oxygen thus our cells will not be functioning sufficiently .
How and Where to Use?
The fruit is attached to its seed. Do not eat the seeds. you may consume its sweet fruit freshly, use it in your cocktails, salads, and cakes
